Bridgerton ball meets fairy woodland romance

When Catherine and Oliver first described their wedding vision as a blend of “Bridgerton Ball” elegance and “Fairy Woodland Romance”, I knew we were about to create something truly magical. Set within the beautiful surroundings of Merriscourt, their wedding combined romantic Regency-inspired details with enchanting woodland styling, resulting in a celebration that felt both grand and deeply personal. Every element was thoughtfully designed to immerse guests in their story, from the moment they arrived until the final dance of the evening.

The ceremony space was transformed into a woodland-inspired setting, complete with moss-lined aisles, potted ferns, wicker lanterns and candlelight. White chair sashes adorned with sprigs of greenery framed the aisle, creating a magical pathway towards the ceremony backdrop. A beautiful styling focal point featuring pillars, layered textures and foliage helped bring the couple’s vision to life while complementing Merriscourt’s natural character.

Inside the wedding breakfast space, full ceiling draping softened the barn and created a wonderfully romantic atmosphere. Long banquet tables were styled with candlelight, brass candlesticks, terrariums and flowing foliage runners, while a suspended floral chandelier filled with hanging tealights became the centrepiece of the room. Vintage books, glass cloches, wooden crates and carefully curated details added layers of character and charm throughout the space.

Personal touches were woven into every aspect of the day, particularly through the stationery. Guests discovered personalised menus, ribbon place settings and thoughtful details created exclusively for the celebration. Even Mabel, the couple’s beloved dog and official ring bearer, had her own personalised ribbon and made a memorable appearance throughout the day. Thanks to the rain, portrait photographs moved indoors, allowing Mabel to enjoy her own mini photoshoot against the ceremony backdrop — a moment nobody will forget.

From the flowers and styling to the stationery and finishing touches, every detail worked together to create a wedding that felt immersive, romantic and completely unique to Catherine and Oliver. A perfect balance of elegance, personality and magic.
