A whimsical cottage garden celebration

Abi and Jonny’s wedding at Merriscourt embraced a relaxed, romantic aesthetic inspired by the beauty of an English cottage garden. Set against the venue’s stunning countryside backdrop, the styling combined timeless green and white tones with soft accents of orange and nude to create a celebration full of warmth and personality.

The vision was to bring the feeling of an abundant garden indoors, allowing the wedding breakfast space to feel natural, welcoming and effortlessly beautiful. Floral arrangements filled with seasonal blooms created texture and movement throughout the venue, while carefully selected styling details enhanced the atmosphere without overpowering the setting.

One of my favourite details from the day was the stationery, which Abi designed herself. Paired with earthy green napkins, the personal touches felt authentic to the couple and added another layer of meaning to the overall design. I also have very fond memories of our coffee dates spent discussing linen samples and final styling decisions — those collaborative moments are often where the magic happens.

The result was a wedding that felt relaxed, romantic and completely personal to Abi and Jonny. Every detail reflected their vision, creating a celebration that was both elegant and full of character.
